Small Business Economic Development Advocacy(SBEDA)Program

 

The City of San Antonio is requesting consultants, especially those that are local small, minority, and woman-owned, respond to three (3) Request for Qualifications for engineering, architecture, and landscape architecture services as part of the 2022 – 2027 Bond. In addition, as part of the Small Business Economic Development Advocacy (SBEDA) Program, the City is requesting all respondents include local small, minority, and woman-owned sub-consultants/contractors as part of their submission that are in alignment with the minimum aspirational goals listed below

At Alamo Colleges I-BEST our goal is to get you the training and resources necessary to help you join the workforce training. We provide you access to the latest tips, tricks, best practices and technologies available at no cost. We have the tools, technology and people to help you land your next career opportunity.

 

There are many ways we can help you: If you are looking for a job? Are you needing training? Are you looking for employees? If you are a veteran or spouse of a veteran? Would you like to be a service provider? Our program is designed to assist students that may not be college ready to gain the skills needed for college training, without first completing developmental education or High School equivalency.

 

The Alamo I-BEST Initiative provides training and employment assistance to workers and students who require basic skill development in order to succeed in technical training. I-BEST students benefit from technical training that is aligned with reading, writing, math or language skills needed for the job.

STRIDE is an entrepreneur leadership course provided by The Bank of San Antonio and Texas A&M University-San Antonio that focuses on bringing actionable entrepreneurial education and practices to San Antonio business owners. Do you need a smoke alarm(s) installed in your home? Please utilize this free service from the American Red Cross. Contact the local office at 210-582-1962 to request this free installation to do your part to ensure your household stays safe from an unfortunate house fire. 

Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund Program 

 

Behind on your mortgage or related expenses?


The Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund Program (TXHAF) provides financial assistance to qualified Texas homeowners who have fallen behind on their mortgage and related expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

TXHAF is administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) with funding provided by the Homeowner Assistance Fund under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.  

TXHAF provides eligible homeowners with grants to pay past due mortgage payments and property taxes, insurance, and HOA fees.

The Ambassador Summer Internship Program is an internship program for currently enrolled college students sponsored by the City of San Antonio. The program exposes students to professional opportunities and innovative career paths through paid internships, Peer-to-Peer networking sessions, and community service projects. Program participants are placed with government entities, non-profit agencies, and private organizations to gain experience in high-demand occupations in an effort to attract San Antonio’s graduating professionals to career opportunities within the local community.

  • Applicants selected for this position will not be considered or hired as City of San Antonio Employees. Instead, they will be considered contracted interns with their assigned employer partner(s).

  • Applicants selected to participate in the City of San Antonio Ambassador Summer Internship Program must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks.

San Antonio Metro Health is partnering with Community Labs  to open additional NO-COST Mass COVID-19 Testing Sites. The new test sites were contracted by the City of San Antonio to reduce wait times and add capacity in the region. We encourage individuals to get tested if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. No appointment is necessary. Testing is done on a walk-up basis only. Results will be provided within 24 hours. For more information on location and hours, visit us online at
