SAN ANTONIO (January 30, 2020) –San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE) was one of several organizations to be awarded a competitive grant for general operating expenses with a grant from the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation of the San Antonio Area Foundation. The $50,000 award allows SAGE to advance economic development and community revitalization, and to provide programs that help develop small businesses and non-profits on San Antonio’s Eastside.
“We recognize that no single organization can accomplish economic development work alone. That is why our goal of increasing economic development drives us to act as a coordinator, connector and facilitator among public, non-profit, small, medium and private agencies that invest in the Eastside.”, said Tuesdae Knight, President and CEO of SAGE.
Marjie French, CEO of the San Antonio Area Foundation, said, “SAGE is a vital part of the economic development on the East Side. We are honored to support SAGE in our quest for a livable and resilient community through the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation, a fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation.”. In 2019, SAGE provided 1,320 hours of training for non-profits with their Back-Office Program and Non-Profit Funding Symposium. Thanks to the generous support of the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation of the San Antonio Area Foundation, SAGE makes a measurable impact in the communities where we work and do business, driving change for those who need it most.
